The Globe Theatre is a reconstruction of the theatre where several of William Shakespeare’s plays were performed for the first time.
The theatre was first built in 1599 as an open-air theatre and seated about 2000 spectators.
The theatre burned to the ground on 29 June 1613 but was reconstructed and finished in 1614. Unfortunately, it was demolished by the puritans already in 1644.
In 1989, parts of the base of the theatre was cleared, and subsequently a reconstruction of the original theatre took place, and was finished in 1997.
Have a guided tour of the theatre, an introduction to the history of the theatre and hear about Shakespeare’s life.
Workshops on one of Shakespeare’s plays can be arranged, price on request.
The price is based on students aged under 16.

The price for adults: EUR 33.50
