Those wishing to combine the classical delights of Ericeira with a week of surfing and yoga, can take advantage of some of the best waves in Europe right at their fingertips. The Yoga & Surf Package aims to make sure you get the most from your experience in Portugal whether you are an experienced surfer or have never tried it before.

Surfing gets you fit, tanned and you’ll make some great new buddies. After an active day of laughs and spills, you can relax with our morning or late afternoon yoga sessions before sitting around at the The Salty Pelican with some cheap drinks and new friends. Our friendly, highly experienced team will help you develop your own yoga practice, teach you how to surf a wave and create the perfect experience. Just a great week of fun, sun, sand, surf, yoga classes, good people, good times and good vibes....

Surf... After breakfast the surf van picks you up and you’ll head out to the beach for your morning surf lessons. Our surf school is run by a team of certified instructors who follow a very unique approach in teaching. They will make sure that you learn the proper surf techniques and have loads of fun while doing it. The unique geography of our location means we not only have rideable waves almost every day of the year but that we can almost always find a wave to suit everyone.

The Salty Pelican is a place to be happy. A place to feel like your own... a place to feel like home... it’s an entire experience consisting of everything we love: surf, yoga, sun, sea, salt, adventures, good people, good times and good vibes. So kick-up your feet... grab a cold sangria and really enjoy the spectacular BBQ sunset dinners here. With over 300 days of sun per year, you spend most of your time outdoors, even in winter.

We are located at the perfect spot, just 500m walk from both Ericeira central and the main beach and a few minutes' walk from the main bus station in Ericeira. In town you will find a labyrinth of cobblestone streets, charming regional architecture and picturesque cafe-lined squares that await your discovery and also daily long walks along the stunning coastline. The Salty Pelican has a seaview deck where you can lounge about all day in our comfy beanbags and sun loungers right by the outdoor swimming pool. Enjoy a good book or just relax with a refreshing sangria and good tasty food from our poolside restaurant. In the evenings the sea view deck is a good place to socialise after an active day of sun and surf with some relaxing music and the most magical sea view sunsets.

Please note that times do vary sometimes depending on weather, tides and seasons.

You can join as many of our scheduled yoga classes during your stay with us. Yoga is twice a day everyday except all day on Mondays and also on Thursday afternoons there is no yoga scheduled, instead we have the meditation hike & winery tours scheduled these afternoons as optional extras. You can choose to join your first yoga class either in the afternoon on your arrival day (if it does not fall on Monday or Thursday) or the following morning. * There are no refunds for any unused yoga classes.

Sunday Arrivals
If your arrival day falls on a Sunday, your first yoga class is scheduled on that afternoon between the starting time of 15:00 - 17:00 usually. If you miss this class, your first yoga class will commence on Tuesday morning, as there is no yoga scheduled all day on Monday.

Accommodation is with comfy beds in a spacious room. You can choose either Mixed Sea View Shared Deluxe Ensuite (10-bed), Female Only Shared Ensuite with Amazing Sea View (6-bed) or Female Shared or Private** Sea View Twin Room (OBS! Bunk Beds) ** rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, private terrace/balcony, and dedicated hanging space. ** When booking just one bed, the room will be shared with one other guest but when booking 2 beds together with a friend, the room will be private.

Lisbon International Airport Transfers
We can organise private airport transfers (to be paid locally) that take just 35min to reach The Salty Pelican, the price is €60 one way or €110 return (includes up to 4 persons per car). It is also an easy metro and bus ride via Lisbon to Ericeira that takes approximately 85 minutes. When you choose to arrive by bus to Ericeira, we are located just 3 minutes walk from the main bus station.

The retreat includes a delicious healthy breakfast buffet served each morning with some freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, natural yogurts, vegetables, homemade hummus, jams, muesli & cereals, dried fruits, mixed nuts, chia seeds, cheeses, chorizo, eggs, Nespresso coffee pods, soy milk, herbal detox teas, fruit infused water and a delicious hot section with warm dishes varying throughout the week. You can also enjoy 4-6 group dinner evenings per week, including our famous seafood/vegetarian BBQ nights, our Portuguese tapas dinner or our sourdough pizza and wine nights (not included). Some weeks we also organise live music during these evenings. You will also find an all-day menu serving delicious Baja-Mexican food & drinks, local wines, ciders, sangria, local beers and some healthy locally made kombucha at an additional cost.

Optional activities (not included):
- Meditation Hike
Every Monday and Thursday we organise a hike along the Ericeira cliffs before sunset, something that you'll never forget whilst enjoying the peace and serenity. At the end we will practice meditation right on the sand at a picturesque beach, small snacks and wine to finish. It will probably be the highlight of your week here ;-) This activity is an optional extra and not included in the package price but is a MUST whilst in Ericeira.

- Winery Tour
Looking for an authentic Portuguese experience, including visits to the vineyard, 17th century chapel, barrel room and tasting a selection of wines, paired with marinated olives, regional cheeses & toasted crackers.…. Then join us on our tour of Quinta de Sant’Ana winery with breathtakingly beautiful scenery. This activity is an optional each Monday and Thursday.

- Seafood BBQ nights including grilled vegetarian options, Sourdough pizza & wine evenings and Portuguese Tapas & Wine nights
