On one of Lisbon’s seven hills, high above the Alfama district, stands “Castelo de São Jorge,” the city’s oldest structure.
The fortress shows traces of Roman, Visigothic, and Moorish influence throughout the city’s history.
If you choose to “climb the hill” on foot, expect to break a sweat.
It is also possible to reach the top by taxi, bus, or the famous tram line (no. 28) – the tram is an experience in itself. If walking, practical footwear is recommended!
Visit the castle both by day and in the evening.
There is simply a fantastic view over the city’s red rooftops, the Tagus River, the “Ponte 25 de Abril” bridge, and the Cristo Rei statue.

The price is for student groups under the age of 25.
