Experience the excitement of jungle trekking at the Endau Rompin
Make sure to arrive at Kluang Bus Terminal or Mersing Jetty no later than 11:00. With your guide, continue the journey into the National Park, mostly off-road through a palm oil estate. Arrive at the National Park, check-in at the accommodation and after a light meal, start the first activity of the day by hiking to one of the National Park facilities and then tubing down the Endau River. At dusk, experience a river cruise along the Endau River. Return to the lodge for dinner and mingle with the locals.

Note: During this trip, you will need to carry your luggage as the guide will be busy carrying his own, as well as shared items (such as cooking equipment). For those with large luggage, you may store them at your guide's house at Kampung Peta. We advise locking your luggage as we are unable to guarantee the safety of items. This is a jungle camping experience, so there are little-to-no facilities available in many visited areas. In addition to the necessary clothing items, you will need to bring your own toiletries. We also recommend bringing a raincoat/poncho (in case of rain), a hat/cap, sunblock, mosquito repellant, and headlamp/torchlight. Due to the natural wild environment, it is possible to experience leeches while in Endau Rompin. It is recommended to bring along a small packet of salt to remove any leeches that might be catching a ride on you.

Meals included: Full Board while at camp

For the trek and during the river crossing, we recommend you wear proper shoes to protect your feet. Visit the Upeh Guling waterfall with the possibility to swim in one of the natural pools. On the way back to the starting point, visit the Blue Lagoon, where you will have another chance to take a dip in the refreshing water of the clear river. A light refreshment will be served. Arrive at the starting point of the hike, and proceed by boat back to the lodge. In the evening, dinner and more interactions with locals.

Endau Rompin
Backpacker Accommodation
Endau Rompin - Camping or Jakun Village
Established in 1993, the 48,905-ha Endau-Rompin (Johor) National Park is the largest protected area in the southern half of Peninsular Malaysia. This ancient rainforest is a critical habitat so important for the survival of the country’s globally-threatened megafauna, including the Malayan Tiger, Malayan Tapir and Asian Elephant. The Peta entrance provides a gateway to the rugged wilderness of the upper Endau valley, where pristine rivers and raging waterfalls are the star attractions. A visit to Peta is also a cultural experience, as the Endau valley lies within the customary lands of the indigenous people of Kampung Peta. The overnight option to visit the national park is camping at Kampung Peta (Peta Village) in a 2-3 people tent, fitted with a thin mattress and sleeping bags or staying in one of the Jakun huts, fitted with a mattress (on the floor), bedsheets and mosquito net. The facilities (toilet and showers) are basic and shared among the people at the campsite.
