We pick you up from your accommodation in Gauteng or Johannesburg Airport between 07-09:00. If you are not arriving in the early morning, pre-night accommodation is required. Kruger Park is 570 km from Johannesburg, which is around 7-8 hours travel time including breaks en-route, but you can marvel at the Highveld grasslands while we journey to the subtropical Lowveld. At Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule section of the Kruger National Park you have time to unwind at the bar, enjoy a refreshing dip in our pool and relax in the beautiful tropical gardens before we board an open landcruiser for a 3-hour sunset drive. This is your first opportunity to experience the varied fauna and flora of Africa. We enjoy watching the magnificent African sunset and, after dark, use spotlights to locate nocturnal animals. A traditional South African dinner is served in the Boma and you spend the night in one of our en-suite chalets. (D)

We drive to a remote spot along the Olifants River to enjoy a 4-hour bush walk at sunrise and experience the thrill of following big animals accompanied by a ranger leading you through the bush at a pace you can handle. Adrenaline surges are guaranteed, even if your ranger is adequately armed. After returning to Tremisana Lodge for brunch we go on an afternoon game drive at around 15:00. Afterwards, we transfer to Marc’s Camp where accommodation is in romantic and fascinating treehouses. (B, D)

Hop on a custom-built open-sided game viewer to drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger and get the opportunity to view game without glass windows between them and you. You can listen to and smell the denizens of the African bush. During our drive we have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi of Kruger Park boasts open plains and supports large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope, which then again attracts numerous lions and other predators. The zones we will visit have the highest concentration of lions throughout Africa! (B, D)

After breakfast we visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where injured and orphaned animals and birds receive medical treatment. There you get the opportunity to get close to some of the centre’s residents such as lions and leopards. At around 15:00 we drive to a Big 5 Game Lodge and go on another open vehicle game drive. Start the day with a walk at sunrise before breakfast is served. Afterwards, we drive up the Panorama Route to see the scenic splendours including the Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon. Return to Johannesburg will be in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off can be arranged if requested. (B)
