Depart from Sandakan and visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Make a stop at the Rainforest Discovery Centre and stand 28m above the forest floor on a canopy walk.
Sandakan - Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre - Rainforest Discovery Centre (L/D)
Arrive at Sandakan airport and take a transfer to Sepilok Jungle Resort, enclosed within a tropical virgin rainforest and just 5 minutes walk from the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch one of the nature's most endangered animal species - the "orangutan" or "man of the jungle" in local language - which swings from branches to branches towards the feeding station. Then visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see the smallest bear in the world.
After lunch, go to the Rainforest Discovery Centre located within the famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. The Exhibition Centre and the Plant Discovery Centre will bring you a lot of information about the nature in the area. Then you will walk on a suspension bridge and end with the only Canopy Walk in Sandakan. Standing on 28m above the forest floor is truly amazing.
Have dinner and overnight.
Explore Gomantung Cave, the largest limestone and bird's nest cave in Sabah. Embark on a cruise along the Kinabatangan River and observe the abundant wildlife of the area.
Sepilok - Gomantung Cave - Bilit, Kinabatangan River (B/L/D)
After breakfast, take a transfer to Gomantung Cave to explore the largest limestone and bird nests cave in Sabah where millions of swiftlets make the cave their home. Then, we will continue overland to Bilit for lunch. Take an afternoon cruise along the Kinabatangan River to observe wildlife. The Kinabatangan River is home to the 10 species of primates, 8 species of hornbills, mangrove snakes, vipers, estuarine crocodile, asian elephants and many other surprising creatures.
Go on wildlife cruises, and take part in a fascinating jungle walk to see tons of lush flora and local fauna!
Bilit, Kinabatangan River - Jungle Trekking - Bilit (B/L/D)
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and birds. Go on a river cruise before joining a guided walk in the jungle to see tons of lush flora and local fauna! Relax and train your ears to the many fascinating sights and sounds of the jungle wildlife. Trek back to your accommodation for lunch and go on another cruise. After dinner, you can go on a night walk (not included)
Return to Sandakan and go on a sightseeing tour. Your adventure will come to an end with an airport transfer.
Bilit - Sandakan (B/L)
After breakfast, return to Sandakan. Have lunch enroute before going on a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Sandakan War Memorial Park, a Buddhist Temple, St. Michael's Church, and the Central Market. Later, you will be transfered to the airport for your onward journey. End of the tour.
Raincoat (wet season Nov-Feb), cap/hat, insect repellent, sun cream, good walking shoes, socks, (leech socks are available for sale), a pair of sandals, torch light, comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pant, binocular, camera, personal toiletries and medications.
