Atlantic Patagonia & Glaciers - 13 Days

Day 1: Buenos Aires

Arrival in Buenos Aires. Private transfer from the airport and check-in at your accommodation.

Day 2: Buenos Aires

Breakfast, and then at 09:00, it's time for the City Tour. Discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires, see the National Congress, The Metropolitan Cathedral next to the Government House in May Square area. Visit the Colon Theater, one of the most important opera houses in Latin America and San Telmo, traditional neighborhood where Tango performances can be seen in many bars and restaurants. Stop at La Boca colorful neighborhood, which was seat of immigrants - mainly Italians - and now home of some artists. Enjoy Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces. Finally, La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant neighborhood where the famous cemetery is found.

The afternoon is free for you to explore.

Day 3: Buenos Aires

Breakfast. The daytime is free for you to explore. In the late evening, there is Madero Tango Show and Dinner. In the very heart of Buenos Aires, this refurbished historic "conventillo" is a classic building of the porteño culture. A Tango Show is a trip to older times. Professional artists will show you their best art, singing songs and dancing typical pieces, shared with the best tango orchestras. The show consists of several parts in which you can appreciate 2 tango orchestras, a folkloric group, dancers and singers. Dinner and drinks (national label wine varietals or champagne FREE. Water, soda and beer FREE) are included.

Day 4: Overnight travel

Breakfast and check out. In the evening, find your own way to Retiro Bus Station to take the Night Bus to Puerto Madryn.

Day 5: Puerto Madryn

Arrival in Puerto Madryn. Find your own way to your accommodation and check-in. Rest of the day is free for you to explore the city or to relax after the bus trip.

Day 6: Puerto Madryn, Valdes Peninsula

Breakfast. In the morning, Peninsula Valdes Full Day Tour:
During this full day tour you will be accompanied by Naturists and Bilingual guides. The first stop will be the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center, where you can have fast references on fauna, flora and geology of the Peninsula. Also you will enjoy the panoramic view that the “Golfo Nuevo”, “San Jose” and the “Isla de los Pajaros” will let us observe. Another stop is the village of “Puerto Pirámide”, where depending of the month of the year, you can take a Tour to see the Whales (Optional from 1 Jun – 30 Nov), or a Nautical strolling with Snorkeling (Optional). Continuing the gravel road, and subject to the season, the climate or the tides, you will visit in different order or combined with other stops: “Caleta Valdés”, “Punta Cantor” and “Punta Norte” to observe Marine Elephants, Penguins and Marine Lions. The Orcinus or ill-named “Killer Whales” can be watch from the seaside at “Punta Norte”. The best months to see them are in March and in April. Also during September in the “Caleta Valdés” (with a bit less frequency). Back to Puerto Madryn. The tour does not include the entrance fee to National Park.

Day 7: Puerto Madryn, Atlantic Patagonia

Breakfast. Free day. If you are in Puerto Madryn and it is Penguin season you may try the optional Punta Tombo Colony Day Tour (not included).

Day 8: Overnight Travel

Breakfast and check out. Make your own way to the bus station. Departure to Rio Gallegos on Night Bus.

Day 9: El Calafate

In the early morning, arrival in Rio Gallegos. Connecting bus to El Calafate. Arrival in El Calafate at between 16:00-18:00. Make your way to your accommodation and check in.

Day 10: El Calafate, Los Glacieres National Park

This Perito Moreno Glacier tour is a wonderful opportunity for travelers to explore and experience one of Argentina’s top attractions! This day tour into the Los Glaciares National Park offers exceptional views of Patagonia’s most famous glacier, the incredible Perito Moreno as you are guided along the wooden walk ways. The Perito Moreno full day excursion will begin taking you from central El Calafate towards the Los Glaciares National Park, an area of exceptional natural beauty and a UNESCO National Heritage site. This is the classic tour to sightsee the Perito Moreno Glacier and the best option to get an overview and see it from above. A full-day tour through Los Glaciares National Park, in which Perito Moreno lies, it gives you the chance to really appreciate the glacier’s sheer magnitude, as you walk across the Pasarelas (heightened wooden walk ways) along the shores of Lake Argentino. Following the Perito Moreno tour circuit you will finally reach the boardwalks of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where you will have three hours to explore and sightsee Perito Moreno’s enormous 60-meter wall of ice floating on the surface of Lake Argentino.

Day 11: El Calfate, Torres del Paine National Park

A full day tour to the world-renowned Torres del Paine National Park allows visitors visit much of the park, through the different paths around the mountain massif and to discover the beautiful landscapes of the Chilean Patagonia, directly (without prior passage through Puerto Natales). This service is provided with last generation buses, expert drivers in the area and bilingual guides authorized by the Administration of National Parks in Chile.

It starts from the town of El Calafate Argentina at 06:30 from your accommodation. Keep in mind that this is the starting time for start pick ups from the center, therefore it is just an estimate. Around 10:00, the bus reaches the border (Cerro Castillo), and once customs procedures are made, a pause will be held in the Chilean town of Cerro Castillo. There you can change money, take a traditional breakfast, chatting with locals, etc. Then, our passengers will be transfered to smaller buses, in order to achieve group cohesion and greater interaction with the guide, the specialist who will accompany the journey and thus maximize your experience in this very special visit. At about 00:00, our bus take its way to the park, reaching the first highlight of our journey at 11.40, Lake Toro. There will be a brief stop to take your first pictures and enjoy the stunning scenery. The next stop of this tour will be in the area of administration of the National Park where you'll need to show your entrance fee to the park. From this point, our bus will head to Lake Pehoe, which will arrive at 13:45. The stop for lunch (included) will be around 13.45. After lunch, the minubus will head to Pudeto, where a trekk to the Salto Grande will be made, and then continue to the viewpoint of the Cuernos del Paine. This whole loop lasts approximately 1 hour and a half. It is a low difficulty hike. After enjoying the ride, we will arrive to Lake Nordenskjold (around 16:00). From there, the bus will return to the area of Laguna Amarga (16:50 - 17:00). At 18:00, the group will arrive at Cerro Castillo; returning to El Calafate between 22:30 - 23:00.

Day 12: El Calafate

Breakfast. Free day in El Calafate to enjoy optional tours, maybe exploring El Chalten

Day 13: End of itinerary
