Croatia Sailing - Zadar to Opatija - Mini Cruise (Premium)

Day 1: Zadar

Check-in at Zadar port at 17:00. Free time or optional sightseeing of Zadar (starting at 17:30h and included). The city is today the centre of the region and was the metropolis of the Dalmatia region for many centuries. The rich cultural heritage is visible at every turn: the Roman forum which dates to the 1st century AD, the church of St. Donatus dating to the 9th century AD - the most famous Medieval basilica and the symbol of the city. The imposing and mighty city walls with representative Port and Land gates are from the 16th century AD, and there are numerous palaces and villas of former noble families. Great restaurants line part of the waterfront and the centre of town. Famous, contemporary creations are the Zadar Sea Organ, one of a kind in the world (listen to the sound) and “The Greeting to the Sun” light installation. Overnight in Zadar.

Day 2: Zadar - Molat Island/Olib

Early departure towards Molat or Olib (depending on availability in the small harbours), islands in the northern part of the Zadar archipelago. Think pure peace and serenity. Tonight it's the Captain's Dinner party on board (included). Overnight in the harbour.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Captain's Dinner

Day 3: Molat Island/Olib - Ilovik - Losinj Island

After breakfast and a morning swim, cruise towards Ilovik. It may have only a few hundred inhabitants but Ilovik has lovely bays and crystal-clear water. We make a short stop before leaving for Losinj known as “Sunshine Island” and its abundance of pines, wildflowers and herbs. Losinj is one of the most popular islands on the northern Adriatic waters for its hidden coves and cool Mediterranean vibe. On arrival, stroll along the pretty waterfront or walk up to the Lošinj Aromatic Garden full of indigenous herbs and plants. The small town of Veli Lošinj is easy to reach if you want to explore on foot. Overnight in Mali Lošinj.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Losinj Island - Cres Island

Departure towards Cres island after the morning swim. This unspoiled island of long and narrow shape is abundant with olive groves, vineyards, forests of oak, and beech and some remarkable stone walls. Cres and Mali Lošinj once were one island before the Romans dug a narrow channel to separate them. Spend the night in the port of Cres, a typical medieval town.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 5: Cres Island - Opatija

After breakfast, departure towards Opatija. The famous Opatija Riviera is best seen from the sea. On arrival in the afternoon, join a walking tour of Opatija (at own cost). Stroll the longest lungomare (seaside promenade) in Croatia or stop in Volosko, a traditional fishing village with some of the best fish restaurants in the country. On your last night on board, maybe have a farewell party under the stars. This would be a great time to swap contact details with your new friends and plan your return. Many people come back, again and again.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Overnatting

You can choose between an under deck or an on deck cabin. Please note, however, that the different cabin types are based on availability. All cabins come equipped with a washbasin, bunk beds and common showers/toilettes.

"On deck" cabins can be situated on the main deck (deck on which you step on as you embark the ship ), and on the upper deck (deck on top of the main deck). "Under deck" cabins can be found below deck and are actually in the hull of the boat. Advantage of cabins situated on deck is the direct exit to the sea and more fresh air, while cabins below deck are sometimes more quiet (only fellow passengers who have booked below deck cabins will pass by and not all passengers from your ship as well as other ships when docked) and comfortable because they're situated on the sea level that chills the cabins and hallways below deck. Cabins below deck mostly have little portholes.

The crew does not enter your cabins during the cruise, so you need to keep your cabin clean by yourself.

Cabins are not air-conditioned, but salons and hallways below deck usually have air conditioning. Air conditioning is turned on only while the motor or generator works, or while the boat is connected to electricity in harbor. If the boat is docked at sea or in a smaller fish harbor that doesn't have an electricity plug, air conditioning is turned off, because otherwise the generator would disturb the peace and quiet.

For single travellers wishing a private cabin, a single supplement is available.

Lokal transport

For the duration of the cruise you will be on one of our premium vessels. All of our premium boats are steel-hulled vessels with a traditional, yet modern look with accommodation in air-conditioned, spacious en-suite cabins with double or twin beds, a hairdryer and a safety deposit box. Premium vessels are 29 to 35m in length with cabins 8 to 14m2 in size. We do not know which boat you will be one until 2 weeks before departure. Boat owners are mostly captains for whom this job is a part of a family tradition, so it’s not rare that the crew members are part of one family. Depending on its size, your boat will have about five crew members. Usually that means a captain, a chef, a waiter and deck hands.

Transfer to and from the boat/harbor are NOT included in the price. You will have to make your own way to us!

Måltider

5 X buffet breakfasts, 4 X three-course lunches, 1 X Captain’s dinner, 1 X olive oil and wine tasting on board, afternoon tea and coffee with biscuits, and complimentary drinking water are included.

Food onboard is similar to traditional Croatian food. Breakfast is a continental breakfast, and consists of tea and coffee, fruit juice, bread, butter, jam, and sometimes ham and cheese. Lunch is traditionally plentiful. It consists of soup or pasta as starter, a main dish with side dishes, salad and dessert. Main dish is two or three times weekly a fish, and in other cases meat or chicken. Side dishes are potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables. Dessert is fruit or cake. Dinner is not included because we encourage you to explore local restaurants.
