Welcome to Johannesburg! We'll meet you at the airport and take you to our accommodation. You'll have time to relax before meeting up with your new group of mates. This evening we'll head out together and get excited about our adventures to come!
EXPLORE JOHANNESBURG - JOHANNESBURG
This morning we're off to explore the town of Soweto. We'll visit the beautifully designed Apartheid Museum or Mandela's House depending on availability. We'll later head out for some drinks at the best watering holes around! (B)
GRASKOP & THE PANORAMA ROUTE - GRASKOP
We'll depart early towards Kruger National Park making our way along the famous Panorama Route to see some of Africa's most unique landscapes before checking in to our accommodation nestled in the valley. (B)
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast we're on our way to Kruger National Park, hopefully getting our first glimpses of wildlife as we head to our unique huts in a secluded corner of the park. Tonight we put our skills to the test, assisting the chefs in preparing a traditional South African braai (BBQ dinner), a hearty feast perfect to get us ready for tomorrow's safari! (B,D)
OPEN VEHICLE GAME DRIVE - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Today it's time to tick off that bucket list with an open vehicle game drive through the Kruger National Park! Have your camera ready whilst looking out for prides of lions, herds of elephants, solitary leopards, rhinos and masses of buffalo, all with experienced guides. Tonight our guide will show us how to make traditional stork brood (stick bread) to enjoy with another BBQ over the fire before we spend the night gazing up at an infinite, starry sky. (B,D)
TRAVEL TO ESWATINI - HLANE NATIONAL PARK
This morning we'll cross the border to Eswatini, a small landlocked nation that hosts Hlane Royal National Park. This evening is another chance to spot your favourite animals on a sunset game drive through the grasslands, then tonight we'll be treated to a show from rangers performing their traditional style of Swazi singing and dancing (weather permitting). (B)
ZULU COMMUNITY STAY - ZULULAND
Today we re-enter South Africa and continue south towards Pongolapoort Nature Reserve taking in the breathtaking views. After checking in to camp we'll visit a local village and discover the region's traditional way of life. We'll then watch the sun set over the mighty Lake Jozini whilst one of the friendly locals tells us stories around the campfire, with an authentic Zulu meal. (B,D)
EXPLORE DURBAN - DURBAN
Today we head for the sun-soaked coastal city of Durban. This afternoon opt to hit the beach, browse out the markets, or chill out. Tonight we'll learn how to make Bunny Chow, an authentic South African fast food. Think a loaf of bread filled curry?? it's something you have to try! (B, D)
TABLE MOUNTAIN - CAPE TOWN
We're off early this morning to catch our short flight to Cape Town. This afternoon we rise to the heavens as we summit the iconic Table Mountain. Crisp air accompanies dramatic scenic views, earning Table Mountain its title as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, and we'll soak up a stunning sunset over the majestic natural amphitheatre. This evening we'll make our way to the V&A Waterfront to stroll, shop, visit a brewery and take in the views. (B)
DISCOVER CAPE TOWN - CAPE TOWN
Today we head off on a walking tour of Bo-Kaap, an area known for its colourful houses and Cape Malay culture. The tour will continue with a drive past the Houses of Parliament, the City Hall, Slave Lodge, District 6 Museum, Slave Lodge, The Castle, and Cape Town Stadium. This afternoon we'll stroll Sea Point Promenade and finish the day with a cocktail in hand as we watch the sunset. (B)
CAPE PENINSULA - CAPE TOWN
Get ready for a full day adventure around the dramatic Cape Peninsula exploring beaches and sheer cliffs that drop into the Atlantic. We'll stop in the gorgeous fishing town of Hout Bay for a cruise that will get us up close and personal with a thousand-strong colony of wild fur seals. After lunch, we'll discover Chapman's Peak, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and hang out with a colony of wild African Penguins on Boulders Beach. Tonight we'll have our farewell dinner and drinks! (B)
CHECK OUT & ONWARD TRAVEL - CAPE TOWN
Your amazing 12-day adventure comes to an end. You can either check out and make your way back home, extend your stay in Cape Town, or continue your travels in Africa. We'll be on hand to help you with any onward travel! (B)
